Experienced serious injury team joins CFG Law as geographical expansion continues

Press Release: February 22, 2021

Team of six makes the switch as purpose-led business expands south with two new offices

FAST-GROWING serious injury business CFG Law announces the recruitment of a highly-regarded team of six experts in the latest stage of its geographical expansion.

Hannah Clarke, the current head of the team which specialises in serious brain and spinal cord injury cases at law firm Ashtons, will lead a new operation for CFG Law in the south from a new office in Bury St Edmunds and a consulting office in Cambridge.

Serious injury specialists Mick Upton, who will also join as a partner, senior associate Siobhan Thacker, associate chartered legal executive Tim Gleave and colleagues Diane Hilton and Sarah Barrett will also join the CFG Law team working from the new Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge offices from April.

It is the latest advance for CFG Law after a busy 2020 which also saw it launch a new Court of Protection and private client service, two new consulting offices in Oxford and Sunderland and new partnerships in the North East and Yorkshire with spinal injury and road safety charities.

Richard Clark, CEO of CFG Law, said: “We’re delighted to be able to welcome our new colleagues to CFG. The east of England was an area where we saw a number of strategic opportunities so this is an exciting and logical next step.

“The added expertise this new team will bring to our business from April, along with the significant specialist skills we already have within our existing team, will enable us to help more people affected by injury together.

He added: “The past 12 months have been challenging for all firms but we’ve been able to grow our business and continue to do things differently in line with our purpose – and that was a key factor in the team’s decision to join us and want to work with us.”

The new team collectively adds exactly 100 years’ serious and catastrophic injury legal experience to the specialist team at CFG Law, which has also this year seen David Hilton join as a partner to launch its Court of Protection and private client offering along with serious injury partner Matt Evans.

Associate Philip Cooper and new Head of IT and Business Improvement Wayne Lord have also been added to the CFG team as it continued to expand and recruit through lockdown and the various Covid restrictions.
