The event, took place on 8th June 2024 at the Mascolo family's private residential estate, offering an enchanting evening of immersive fundraising experiences and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of critically ill children, their families, and the NHS staff who support them.
The TONI&GUY Charitable Foundation, established in 2003 by the late Toni Mascolo OBE and his wife Pauline, had been dedicated to supporting various charitable causes, with a focus on improving the lives of those in need. The Summer Soiree was a testament to the Foundation's commitment to continuing Toni and Pauline's mission and legacy.
Lilia Mascolo, Director and trustee of the TONI&GUY Charitable Foundation expressed her delight with the success of Saturday evening's fundraiser: "We are thrilled with the incredible reception of our innovative summer soirée, a groundbreaking concept in immersive fundraising. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are deeply grateful for the generous support of our sponsors, who made this event possible. It was an honour to have the renowned Nobu Hotel London Portman Square serve their culinary masterpieces, adding a touch of elegance to the evening. We extend a special thanks to Steven Webster for donating a diamond for our exclusive raffle. The funds raised will make a significant impact on the TONI&GUY Ward at King's College Hospital, and we are humbled by the community's support for this worthy cause."
The event was a huge success which saw Pierre and Lilia Mascolo host 250 guests including Prince Jerome Luc Muniglia de'Giustiani, Karen Millen OBE, Amanda Cronin, Pablo Damian Cristi, Laura Pradelska, Peggy Rose, HRH Katarina of Yugoslavia. Andrea Mclean also was in attendance hosting the evenings raffle and auction. Violinist Lettice Rowbotham also performed.
Guests enjoyed welcome canapes from Nobu Catering, brought by Nobu Hotel London Portman Square, while the Italian Chefs Association provided catering throughout the evening. The evening's exclusive wine supplier was Think Wine while spirits and cocktails were provided by Labo, and by Solaro Capri.
The Summer Soiree marked the first time the TONI&GUY Charitable Foundation introduced immersive fundraising experiences, offering guests a unique and engaging way to support the cause. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in interactive installations, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and other innovative activities designed to raise awareness and funds for the TONI&GUY ward at King's College Hospital. This fresh approach to fundraising aimed to inspire and connect guests with the Foundation's mission in a memorable and impactful way.
The event had already garnered significant support from socially conscious friends and partnering businesses such as Nobu Catering, brought by Nobu Hotel London Portman Square, providing the welcome canapés. Nobu chefs traveled from their kitchens to Summerdown Manor to cook up internationally renowned Japanese-Peruvian cuisine in front of guests, allowing them to interact and taste incredible creations, giving them the ultimate "at-home" Nobu experience. Numerous luxury brands also generously donated to help bring truly immersive experiences to life. Their contributions played a crucial role in helping the Foundation make a positive impact on the lives of those who benefit from the TONI&GUY ward at King's College Hospital.
Proceeds from the Summer Soiree will directly benefit the TONI&GUY ward, enabling the hospital to continue to provide the best possible treatment and facilities for young patients and their families. The Foundation's ongoing support had been instrumental in ensuring that the ward remained at the forefront of pediatric care.
The TONI&GUY Charitable Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to all supporters, donors, and partnering businesses for their unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of those who need it most. "Together, we can continue and carry on my mother and father’s legacy, creating a brighter future for seriously ill children and their families," added Pierre Mascolo, Chairman of the Foundation and son of the late Toni Mascolo, OBE.
