READING, UK. April 24th, 2024 – We are delighted to announce the inclusion of "The Perfumer’s Garden: Seasons and Sensations — A Reinterpretation of Renaissance Art" in this year's Caversham Arts Trail, with an extended showcase running until June 23rd. The exhibition will begin during the Arts Trail, open on the weekends of the 11th-12th and 18th-19th of May from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and will continue until late June at the HUMOS Studio and Showroom in Caversham, Reading. Admission is free, with no booking required.
"The Perfumer’s Garden" is not a display of original artworks but a creative reinterpretation through the medium of scent. It employs advanced AI technology to create new works inspired by the masterworks of Bosch, Botticelli, and Arcimboldo, transforming these classic visual themes into a series of olfactory experiences. Each scent captures the essence of the Renaissance era, offering visitors a new way to engage with historical art through the sense of smell.
This exhibition promises an interactive olfactory art experience, celebrating the timeless beauty of classical art and the transformative power of scent. Visitors will explore new interpretations of classical themes, presented through the unique and evocative world of olfaction.
"Julie, a CAT organiser, expressed her enthusiasm: "I was very excited that Humos approached us to join CAT 2024 and upon meeting Gabriel, the owner, I knew his passion for beauty and vision for his work resonated so well with the ethos of CAT. HUMOS is a beautiful premise with perfect exhibition spaces and a natural aesthetic. I can't wait to see the final exhibition at HUMOS and share it with those visiting the Trail."
Initiated by local artists in 2010, the Caversham Arts Trail has grown into an important cultural event, showcasing 43 artists across 20 venues this year. It provides a platform for the public to engage directly with artists and their work, fostering a vibrant community of creative talent.
"The Perfumer’s Garden" is a highlight of this year's trail and continues beyond, offering an extended opportunity for visitors to delve into the interplay between art forms. It promises a unique exploration of how traditional art can be reimagined for the modern senses.
