LONDON, UK. March 26th, 2025 – King Games has partnered with independent furniture consultancy Fluid to create a dynamic and adaptable workspace at their head office.
Opting for Fluid’s unique rental model, the company has reimagined its office environment, giving employees the freedom to trial and shape their own workspace.
The collaboration began with an initial discussion, and within just three months, King Games had selected, received, and installed their chosen furniture solutions.
The goal was to explore rental as an alternative to heavy capital expenditure (CapEx), allowing them to trial different types of furniture before committing long-term. This approach has led to an impressive 52% CapEx saving.
King Games focused on fostering both collaboration and privacy within the office. They introduced a variety of furniture solutions, including:
- High and low collaboration tables for teamwork and brainstorming
- Private working booths for focused tasks
- Open sofa booths to encourage informal meetings
- Enclosed Torus M single work pods for individual work sessions
- Framery Meeting pods for soundproof discussions
- Campers & Dens meeting pods for versatile team spaces
After 12 months, a full review with Fluid was conducted to assess what worked best. This allowed King Games to swap out underutilised items and invest in more of what their employees found most effective. This adaptability ensures the office evolves with the needs of its workforce, enhancing productivity and job satisfaction.
King Games is known for creating globally acclaimed games like Candy Crush and Call of Duty.
“We wanted to create a workspace that genuinely worked for our teams,” said Rebecca Redding, Workplace Manager at King Games.
“Fluid’s rental model gave us the flexibility to trial different solutions, adjust as needed, and avoid unnecessary costs. The results speak for themselves – our employees are engaged, and our office is a space that truly supports the way we work.”
The Future of Workplace Design
The partnership between King Games and Fluid Furniture marks a shift in how modern businesses approach office spaces. With hybrid working becoming the norm, companies are recognising the need for adaptable and cost-effective solutions that evolve with their teams. Fluid’s rental model not only reduces upfront expenditure but also enables businesses to test and refine their layouts over time, ensuring that workspaces remain engaging and functional.
“At Fluid we believe workspaces should be as dynamic as the people who use them,” said Warwick Flint, Managing Director from Fluid Furniture.
“Our rental model gives businesses like King Games the flexibility to create environments that truly support their teams, without the burden of long-term commitments or high upfront costs. Seeing how King Games has embraced this approach is a fantastic example of how workplaces can evolve to meet changing needs.
“One of the standout benefits of furniture rental from Fluid is the peace of mind that comes with Fluid’s comprehensive maintenance and support services. King Games no longer have to worry about repairs, replacements, or the logistics of managing furniture, as we take care of all aspects, allowing them to focus on their core business.”
Looking ahead, King Games plans to continue working with Fluid to refine their setup further, using employee feedback to make data-driven decisions about their office environment. The ability to trial new furniture and swap out less effective pieces ensures their workspace remains dynamic and responsive to changing workstyles.
Warwick Flint added: “For businesses looking to future-proof their offices, Fluid’s flexible rental model offers a smart and sustainable approach. With reduced waste, lower costs, and an ever-evolving office design, companies can focus on what truly matters – creating inspiring environments that support their teams and drive success.”
