DONCASTER, UK. April 18th, 2024 – Specialist auctioneer and asset management company NCM Auctions are selling the contents of Communisis Group’s print production, mailing and fulfilment factories in Leeds and Liverpool.
Communisis, the integrated marketing services company, played a significant role in providing print and mailing services for some of the UK’s largest financial and public organisations. Unfortunately, the Leeds-based company went into administration last year.
Now, the contents of the printing and fulfilment sites in Leeds and Liverpool are being sold by auction. A series of exclusive sales includes everything from specialist printing and finishing lines to lifting equipment, workshop tools, racking, office contents and much more, providing many opportunities for buyers in the printing industry.
The sales include an exclusive live auction on 25 April, comprising of the main production lines, printing presses and finishing equipment used to produce financial documents, marketing materials, cheque books, polling cards and many other specialist products.
Featured equipment includes a Hewlett-Packard T300 colour inkjet web press, high-capacity Rotoman EDE 6-station web press and dryer and Drent and Goebel presses used for printing cheque books, banking and financial materials. There’s also a Roland R700 6-colour press, Heidelberg printing presses and a Scitex personalisation line capable of high-speed variable data overprinting and the accompanying 15-part finishing line.
Alongside the printing and finishing equipment, the auction also includes the contents of the pre-press and plate making room, large format proofing printers, Polar guillotines, Hohner and MBO finishing machines and much more.
Emma Humble, Head of Partnerships for NCM Auctions added:
“This sale for Communisis is a large project across multiple sites and brings a lot of infrequent and specialist machinery to the market. Our circular approach helps to extend the life cycle of this equipment. It means there are hundreds of pieces of machinery across these sales that will go on to be used by a range of businesses, from start-ups and smaller organisations to those in the print industry who understand the production capacity and quality of the end product they can achieve with this combination of print and finishing equipment.”
“We’ve already seen a great deal of interest from potential buyers both in the UK and overseas. With an auction like this, I would urge potential bidders to book with us and arrange a viewing with our team before the auction.”
The equipment and machinery sale from the Leeds site will be a live auction, starting from 11am on 25 April.
The rest of the timed auctions include the remaining factory fixtures and fittings, workshop tools, lifting and handling equipment, office contents and smaller machinery. These will run from the 24 April to 3 May.
Interested bidders can view the catalogue, register and place pre-auction bids.
Viewings are available by appointment. Contact the auction team at NCM on 01302 898260 or email info@ncmauctions.co.uk.
