COMET Expands Global Reach with Strategic Partnership in South Korea
ABERDEEN, UK. July 25th, 2024 - COMET is thrilled to announce a strategic channel partnership with RIMS, a prominent safety consultancy firm based in South Korea, working in collaboration with LRQA. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for COMET, expanding its global reach to deliver innovative safety solutions to key industries in South Korea and beyond.

COMET, formerly known as STC INSISO, is a UK-based specialist well known for its comprehensive suite of software and services designed to address the unique challenges of high-risk industries such as energy, construction, maritime, rail, utilities, and more. COMET’s expertise in incident investigation, root cause analysis, supply chain assurance, and regulatory compliance, makes it a leader in risk intelligence technology.

By bringing together COMET’s industry-leading risk intelligence technology and RIMS's extensive experience in safety consultancy, the partners aim to establish a new standard in incident prevention in South Korea. The partnership will enable South Korean businesses across a wide range of sectors, including construction, manufacturing, chemical, and energy, to benefit from the COMET technology suite and associated service offerings.

COMET was drawn to the South Korean market due to its dynamic industrial landscape and the nation's hunger for innovative HSE technology. "We are thrilled to partner with RIMS to bring COMET to South Korea," said Mark Rushton, CEO of COMET. "This collaboration represents our commitment to supporting organisations in South Korea in their journey towards achieving and maintaining the highest standards of safety performance.”

As part of the partnership, COMET and RIMS are working together to provide best-in-class training to leading operators in a range of major accident hazard (MAH) industries.  RIMS have invested in becoming ‘COMET Accredited’ to help their clients to better understand and mitigate their safety risks - creating consistently safer work environments.

"We are excited to join forces with COMET to bring world-class risk management solutions to South Korea," said Jeong Wu Lee, Research Director of RIMS. "Together, we are committed to driving positive change in risk management practices and helping organisations in South Korea achieve their safety objectives."

To make this partnership a reality, COMET’s CEO Mark Rushton and Head of Operations Craig Smith recently travelled to Seoul to meet with RIMS and finalise negotiations. The trip was supported by Innovate UK and by the British Embassy.

COMET’s presence in South Korea continues to grow. Last month, as part of Innovate UK's Global Business Innovation Program for Advanced Manufacturing, COMET’s CTO, Arrash Nekonam, had the opportunity to present COMET's solutions at the British Embassy in Seoul, network with top manufacturing companies in Daegu, and present at the prestigious SMART TECH KOREA conference. His presentations highlighted how COMET's AI-driven solutions are designed to address major manufacturing challenges, including tackling $10 billion in annual quality control losses.

COMET looks forward to a successful partnership with RIMS and continued growth in the South Korean market.
