Claridge’s Iconic Furniture and Art Collection Set for Auction Sale
DONCASTER, UK. September 20th, 2024 - Having recently been named the UK’s best hotel on The World’s 50 Best Hotels list, a collection of archived pieces from Claridge’s and sister hotels, The Connaught and The Berkeley are going up for auction.

Maybourne, which owns and manages the iconic hotels, are once again auctioning a stunning archive of stored pieces with NCM Auctions.

The unrivalled collection dates back over one hundred years and features bespoke pieces of furniture crafted by leading names in the design world, including Ben Whistler and David Linley. It also includes items from the Marcus Wareing Restaurant and ceramics by John Wigmore.

The catalogue of antique furniture, one-of-a-kind commissioned pieces, lighting, fixtures, artwork and many other pieces that have graced the group’s three London hotels will be auctioned live over two days on the 25 and 26 September.

Maybourne are leading the way once again with a circular and sustainable approach, using NCM Auctions to extend the lifecycle of surplus items and make the collection available to the public once again.

Amy Rutherford, partnership lead at NCM added: “We’re delighted to be working with the team at Maybourne again and we can’t wait to bring this collection to a global audience once more with our live hybrid auction. The catalogue features over 600 items and includes iconic pieces from David Linley, exclusively for Claridge’s, seating and tables direct from The Blue Bar, items from the Marcus Wareing Restaurant and many more.

"Bids can be placed online before the live auction starts on 25 September, and items are also available for viewing the day before the live auction.”

Viewings are available by appointment only on 24 September. Interested parties must register for the auction and contact NCM on 01302 898260 to book.

The catalogue is online now, and pre-auction bids can be placed beforehand. The live auction will start at 11am on the 25 and 26 September.
