Contigo Mobility Brings Revolutionary Battery Swapping Stations to the UK
LONDON, UK. January 23rd, 2025 - Contigo Mobility (CoMo), a global leader in electric vehicle (EV) mobility solutions, is thrilled to announce the deployment of its advanced battery swapping stations across the UK starting in February 2025.

This initiative marks a significant milestone in CoMo’s expansion from its home market of Indonesia, where the company has established a robust reputation for EV innovation.

The primary aim of CoMo’s battery swapping stations is to revolutionise the way electric vehicle riders manage their battery needs. All CoMoTo fleet vehicles will now have the capability to quickly and seamlessly swap batteries at these stations, eliminating the need for riders to charge their batteries manually. This approach ensures minimal downtime, enhanced convenience, and a superior riding experience.

“We are excited to bring our proven battery swapping solutions to the UK. Our experience in Indonesia has demonstrated that battery swapping is a game-changer for EV users. We’re confident it will bring immense benefits to the UK market, especially by addressing key safety and convenience challenges,” said Emilia Tubielewicz, Head of International Relations at CoMo.

In addition to supporting CoMoTo’s fleet, the new battery swapping stations will also accommodate batteries from other electric motorcycle fleets and electric bicycles. This inclusive approach aims to help a broader range of riders while addressing a growing concern: the safety hazards of charging batteries at home. Recent reports of house fires caused by battery charging have underscored the urgent need for safer solutions. CoMo’s battery swapping stations are designed with cutting-edge safety features, including fire-resistant enclosures and integrated extinguishing systems, providing peace of mind to users.

“Our stations are not just about convenience. They are built with safety as a top priority. By providing a secure and efficient way to swap batteries, we hope to significantly reduce the risks associated with home charging and make EV adoption even more accessible to the public,” Tubielewicz added.

CoMo’s commitment to sustainability and innovation has been at the heart of its operations. By introducing this infrastructure in the UK, the company aims to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility while addressing practical challenges faced by EV users. These battery swapping stations will ensure riders spend more time on the road and less time worrying about charging logistics.

The rollout of CoMo’s battery swapping stations in February 2025 will initially focus on major urban centers, with plans for nationwide expansion in the coming months. CoMo invites electric vehicle riders, fleet operators, and the general public to experience the future of EV mobility.
