LONDON, UK. 15th February 2024 - The remarkable achievements of care-experienced young people were celebrated at BT Headquarters in London last week. The ceremony, which honoured 140 exceptional pupils, featured keynote speaker Jaz Ampaw-Farr, who herself spent her childhood in foster care, and delivered an inspiring address to the audience.
As a global motivational speaker, educator, TV presenter, comedian, and co-founder of Be Human First Ltd, Jaz Ampaw-Farr brought her unique perspective and transformative insights to the event, touching the hearts and minds of attendees from diverse backgrounds. Drawing from her own experiences as a care-experienced entrepreneur, Ampaw-Farr shared her journey of resilience, determination, and success, inspiring young people to overcome obstacles and embrace their full potential.
Reflecting on her involvement in the awards ceremony, Jaz Ampaw-Farr stated, "There are lots of reasons children end up in care, and absolutely none of them include the child being broken! The skills I learned navigating foster homes, education, and homelessness as a child and teenager are the same skills I applied in my journey to becoming a successful entrepreneur.
